Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Does a wisdom tooth repeatedly swell or hurt, or is it hard to clean? Its position and effect on nearby teeth help determine whether removal is needed.

What Can Wisdom Tooth Extraction Help You Address?
The gum around it keeps swelling
Repeated discomfort near a wisdom tooth is worth examining, including how much of the tooth has erupted.
It is hard to clean
A partly erupted tooth can trap food; an exam and imaging can show its position and effect on nearby teeth.
It causes no symptoms
Not every wisdom tooth must be removed. Ask whether monitoring or treatment makes sense in your case.

Common Questions
Do all wisdom teeth need to come out?
No. The decision depends on symptoms, position, cleaning access and effects on nearby teeth and tissues.
What happens if the tooth is impacted?
Its position and surrounding structures need careful assessment. The recommended approach may include surgical removal or specialist referral.
Will I be comfortable during removal?
Anesthesia is planned for the procedure. Tell the dentist if you feel pain during treatment; postoperative soreness and swelling may still occur.
