Dentures and Prosthetics

Do your dentures rub or slip, or are several missing teeth making meals difficult? Bring your current denture to see whether adjustment or replacement makes sense.

Reception at the Maple Avenue office.

What Can Dentures and Prosthetics Help You Address?

Several teeth are missing

Discuss what you need for eating and speaking, and whether a removable or fixed option fits your mouth.

An old denture rubs or slips

Bring it to the visit. The fit, remaining teeth and gums can be reviewed before deciding on adjustment or replacement.

A new denture feels unfamiliar

Sore spots or trouble using it deserve follow-up; do not try to reshape it yourself.

Your Care With Dr. Hsieh

Dr. Hsieh assesses remaining teeth, gums and the way your jaws meet. You can discuss removable dentures, fixed alternatives or implant-supported options when suitable, including how each will be maintained.

Dr. Hsieh earned his D.D.S. from New York University in 1989, has practiced dentistry in New York for more than 35 years, and has taught at NYU College of Dentistry. He oversees care provided at this office personally and explains when specialist referral is appropriate.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Review your needs

Examine your mouth and any existing denture, and discuss the difficulties you want to address.

Design and try in

Record the necessary measurements and assess shape, shade and bite during the fitting stages.

Fit and adjust

Check comfort and function, explain cleaning and arrange adjustments as needed.

Ongoing Care

Follow cleaning instructions for your particular restoration. Contact the office if you develop sore areas or the denture no longer feels stable; its fit may change over time.

Common Questions

Should I choose a fixed or removable replacement?

The best choice depends on available support, oral health, cleaning needs and your preferences. These options can be compared during assessment.

Can a loose or uncomfortable denture be assessed?

Yes. Bring it to your visit so Dr. Hsieh can examine the fit and discuss whether adjustment, repair or replacement is appropriate.

Will I need adjustments after fitting?

Adjustment may be needed as you adapt. Let the office know about rubbing or discomfort rather than trying to alter the denture yourself.
